Hi All,
My father passed away last Tuesday. On Thursday morning I headed up north to Oregon where he lived to help take care of the family matters. Its Sunday night and I have just returned home. There is just an overwhelming number of things to still take care of. Alex and I will not be recording a show this week. Hopefully, we will be back next weekend!

And Dan and Nancy Tepfer from PLFAG in Dayton, Ohio, talk about how they got involved in PFLAG and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
In news and politics we talk about the apology over the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and the Fred Thompson and Reverend Phelps connection. We shed tears over Ellen and her dog controversy and discover a gay character in Harry Potter. It’s coffee time with Aaron Aviles as we listen to Java Jive…a catchy tune on his self-titled CD. In listener e-mail we listen to a song with a great tune but questionable lyrics.

This week we talk about the gay ole time we had at the Castro Street Fair. Great weather, cute boys, beer, and food. Who can ask for anything more? At the fair we talk to friends, HEP Team SF, and we listen to Mark Leno discuss the gay marriage bill on Arnold’s desk….more on that later. This week we also interview David Perry with the “Home for Halloween” campaign. Home for Halloween is a public safety campaign urging people to find events in their own communities and to keep the Castro safe and quiet this Halloween. As a special treat, we play the song “A Foggy Day” by Aaron Aviles from his self-titled CD.
In news and politics we discuss Arnold’s veto of the Gay Marriage Bill in California, the domestic partner ship bill in Oregon, and Dear Abby’s support for gay marriage. And in the sad state of television today, we talk about the declining number of gay characters on TV. Oh yeah, we also talk about Bill O’Reilly and his latest rant regarding the Folsom Street Fair and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. And Bill says the Gays are militant!

This week, we recap our weekend at the Podcast and New Media Expo in Ontario, Calif. We had a great time meeting everyone, taking Martin and Steele of From the Ville to West Hollywood to show them the gay night life and we enjoyed getting kicked out of the Libsyn party on Saturday night. Did we mention our new friends Chad and Dorian? Cute! THere was lots of eating, drinking and dancing
We talk about the new fall television season and read some controversial listener email. The ENDA, Employment Non-Discrimination Act, bill leaves out the Transgendered all in the name of political “strategy”. The Castro Street Fair is Sunday and we are looking forward to a day in the city.

The Castro Street Fair is Sunday

The Castro Street Fair is this Sunday, October 7, 2007 and of course it is held on Castro Street in San Francisco. Alex and I will be there taking in the sights and sounds from 11am to 6pm. There is nothing like walking the Castro with a beer in hand and watching all the cute boys walk by. Hopefully there will be some good bands to listen to as well. It is disappointing to see so many drag queen shows listed as entertainment, but what ever floats your boat! I hate seeing our community being stereo-typed! All that aside, the Castro Street Fair is a wonderful event and we look forward to it every year! See you there!

We have returned safe and probably a little less sound from the 2007 Podcast Expo in Ontario, CA.
We took the dirty white boys, Martin and Steele to West Hollywood and partied with the podcasting famous at the Libsyn party, that is until the cops showed up! Here is just a little teaser of sound clips from the weekend. We will be back this weekend with a full show.

Alex and I are off the Ontario, California for the podcast expo this weekend. We will be meeting up with some other Gay podcasters while we are there. We are also heading over to West Hollywood and taking Martin and Steele with us! We have to work in seeing Alex’s mother while we are in So. Cal. as well.
We won’t be able to post a new podcast this weekend, but hopefully we can sometime next week.

I highly recommend the film "Shelter". It is one of the best gay films that Alex and I have seen to date! It is a beautiful love story that ends the way all love stories should. It had me crying tears of joy. Dean
