Hi, this is Alex and Dean - Gay Men Talking, coming to you from San Francisco!

After a week off we return with lots to talk about, like puppet sex and the flamers setting West Hollywood on Fire. We went to see âAvenue Qâ in San Francisco and we loved it!! Racism, puppet sex, and homosexuals. How much better can it get? Alex sees full frontal nudity at âThe Full Montyâ while Dean roughs it at the ranch.

New York City here we come. We finalized our plans to go to New York to see RENT and Alex is already excited about seeing Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, and Tamyra Gray. In news and entertainment we talk about the greedy and shameless Ted Haggard as well as Ryan Seacrest and the new âmosâ on Desperate Housewives. We also read a few touching viewer e-mails.

This is Alex and Dean and we are gay husbands. In our gay internet radio podcast, we talk about every day gay life events and issues that are important to us. No topic in news, politics, religion, entertainment or education, whether gay or straight is off limits. Along with our perspectives on gay life we throw in our own brand of comedy and humor.

Behind the curve this week

Author admin | 08.22.2007 | Category blog

Hi Everyone!

We are a little behind the curve this week and we were not able to get a podcast out. We just needed a little break. Hopefully, we can get a podcast posted soon. So, don’t worry, we have not forgotten about all our wonderful listeners.

Alex and I did see the play "Avenue Q" at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco last Saturday. Lets just say we would give it 15 points out of 10 if we could. We have also made our arrangements to see RENT in NYC in a couple of weeks. That will certainly be an experience!

Thanks everyone!
Dean

Hi, this is Alex and Dean - Gay Men Talking, coming to you from San Francisco!

This week we talk about "Visible Vote 08 â A Presidential Forum" presented by HRC and Logo. Six of the eight Democratic nominees for president participated in the "gay debate". They include Barack Obama, John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, Bill Richardson, and Hillary Clinton. We provide our feedback on what they have to say and we grade each one. Who got an "A" and who got a "D"?

We also talk about Halloween being cancelled in the Castro - thatâs just like cancelling Christmas. Alex is excited about the play RENT once again and wants to go to New York to see it. Dean says "at $350 a night for a hotel in NYC, you have to be f****** kidding!". Dean does the unthinkable and admits he wanted to go to the Apple store and look at a Mac Mini and he does.

Presidential Forum on Gay Issues

Author admin | 08.09.2007 | Category blog

Wow, I’m impressed!

I have to take back a lot of what I said in my earlier blog. I’m actually impressed with the Presidential Forum on Gay Issues that aired this evening on Logo and presented by MTV, Logo and HRC.

I felt the forum was professional produced and the candidates, panel and questions were all professional and very relevant. I was expecting the same circus show that CNN and YouTube put on a couple weeks ago.

It wasn’t a Hollywood celebrity feast that I anticipated it to be even though the camera did pan to Neil a few times.

Well done HRC and Logo. My hat off to you!

Alex and I have watched "debates"/forums in the past, but this one really drew me in and I felt that I really learned a thing or two about the Democratic candidates.

Alex and I will talk about the forum on our next show. We sat in the comfort of our own living room and had a great steak dinner afterwards along with a bottle of Merlot. Thank you Alex for another excellent dinner. I’m no longer upset that we didn’t get invited in order to cover the event for the "regular gay guys" out there. Let the gay elite spend their bucks to sit in the audience. What ever! Logo should be very proud of what they did here and the gay community should be proud of the event!

Until our next show…
Oh, and remember to vote for us once per day for the "Best GLBT Podcast of the Year". Just go to www.alexanddean.com and click on the Podcast Awards graphic to vote!

Thanks
Dean

The Gay Debates Tonight

Author admin | 08.09.2007 | Category blog

The Presidential Forum on Gay Issues or the Gay Debates presented by HRC and Logo are on live tonight at 6pm Pacific time. I’m sure you gays on the "other" coast can figure out what time that means for you, right!

Alex and I will be watching on our 50" plasma from the comfort of our living room. You see, Ashok Sinha, the manager  of communications and public affairs for Logo had promised to get back to us on the possibility of Alex and Dean - Gay Men Talking covering the event on behalf of the "regular gay guy" out there in America, I guess we were not important enough. Hell, I think I want to watch this from home anyway.

There are those that are saying this event will be of historic significance for the gay community. That is of course yet to be seen. I personally feel that this event will not do much to further the needs of the average gay man or women living in America today that works, pays a mortgage, pays taxes, is concerned about health care, concerned about job security and just wants the same rights that all other Americans except us have. I don’t see any real change coming from any politician no matter what side of the great divide they stand on.

Logo has a website dedicated to the debates called "The Visible Vote 08". I was reading the latest post and they talk about the "celebrity event" that is going to occur tonight. Well, that’s exciting isn’t it! Here the future of gays and lesbians, that just want to be treated like any other so called normal person, is going to be discussed by the potential next leader of the America and the most powerful leader of the world and Logo and the gay elite seem to be more interested in the celebrity aspect of this circus event that is about to take place. Oh, yes it will be exciting for all us queers to see the red carpet rolled out and see T.R., Neil, Mellisa, Lance and whomever walk down that gauntlet as the camera flashes go off. That will do a lot to ensure that I as a tax paying American citizen am afforded the same rights as the husband and wife and their two kids that live right next door to Alex and me.

Well, I’m waiting in anticipation for the event this evening and I’m holding out hope that the gay community can come away with something positive. Alex and I will be watching. We are very interested in what our listeners have to say after watching the event as well. Please send us your thoughts. We would love to discuss them on our next show.

Thanks
Dean

Hi, this is Alex and Dean - Gay Men Talking, coming to you from San Francisco!

What a weird night. This week we talk about a strange night out in the Castro - keys in the dumpster, the man who fell asleep next to us during dinner, Hot Cookie and the sex shop. We also discuss our worst dates â guys passing out seems to be a common theme. Dean planned to give equal time to the conservatives this week but it didnât happen. In news and politics we discuss the Gay Debates or âThe Presidential Candidates Forum on Gay Issues.â We are still waiting for our press pass. We also talk about UPS doing the right thing in New Jersey, the weird beliefs of Dr. Robert Crummie, and a Baptist Minister who offered oral sex to police officers.

In the world of entertainment we discuss Billyâs Hollywood Screen Kiss, Michael Pare, Avenue Q, The Full Monty, Desperate Housewives and the lesbian president. We also review The Bourne Ultimatum with the handsome Matt Damon.

This is Alex and Dean and we are gay husbands. In our gay internet radio podcast, we talk about every day gay life events and issues that are important to us.
